upping the "C" rating of the lipos wont hurt the ESC. The power(amperage) that goes through the ESC is determined more by the load(motor draw)
the lipos having more amperage to "give" doesnt...

oh, you could also try re-binding the reciever to the radio.
i have had that happen once. esc stopped working, but it was the radio and reciever stopped communicating. i re-bind the rx to the...

it is possible the reciever has gone bad.
the beep from the ESC may indicate no throttle signal.

if you have any other reciever to test with, id do that 1st.

when you turn it on, do you get steering?

ezrun makes a 120amp, and a 150amp ESC.
