RE: Evolution 26GT problem running above 4000rpm

I actually got the original ignition to work again. Guy I bought it from said it was toast, but it just needed a 4.8v battery, not 6v.

RE: Evolution 26GT problem running above 4000rpm

I am using the stock pickup in the stock location. I cut the wires on the original ignition that went bad and put a connector on to use with the RCeXL unit. I am assuming that the original hall...

26GT will not run above 4000 rpm

I have an Evolution 26 GT that I can get to idle, but it will not go above 4000 rpm. This is the first model and the EI died on it so I am using one of the RC e XL CDI units with it. I would think...

RE: Evolution 26GT problem running above 4000rpm

I am not using an Evolution ignition. I am using one of the Chinese made ones that CH sell. I am using a 6V pack.

Does the 25GT not like an EI with spark advance?

RE: Best way to tune a gasser?

Use the octane that the mfg recommends. It does not give more power like more nitro does.

I'll give you my way of tuning a Walbro carb...
I start with one turn out on both needles.
Get it...

RE: Aerotow attachment point on tow plane

Here are pictures of the finished plane. I have a Poulan 46cc with EI. It can tow almost vertical[sm=teeth_smile.gif]

RE: Aerotow attachment point on tow plane

Having the attachment on the tail will end up in disaster. What happens is the glider gets too high and pulls the tail of the tug up and tug ends up a lawn dart. Or the glider is too low and pulls...

RE: Aerotow attachment point on tow plane

The glider "should" be above the tow and never hit the rudder, but if it does the support wires will guide the tow line over the rudder.

Funny that Robinhood is done in an Auburn Tiger scheme....

RE: Sig 1/3 Spacewalker

Had a G38 in mine and it would fly better than scale. It would loop from level flight. G45 would give more vertical and not be too crazy and out of the scale envelope. The G62 is a bit much, unless...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Peter,
I'm not trying to "Police" what you are saying or asking. I'm just trying to figure out where you are coming from. You have been all over the place. You have talked like you have been at it...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Peter, there is a big difference in CA and epoxy. They are not the same strength. Example, use CA to glue two strips of plywood together and then use epoxy. Let them cure and then try to separate...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

That would be the Skyshark R/C spinner. I think it was discussed earlier in this thread. Probably somewhere around post 190.

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

You are right Tom.
Back to the building...
How did it balance with the Toro 25 on it? I have the ST G-2300 for mine, but am thinking of going gas if the weight is needed up front. The Brillelli...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Peter, I think you jumped the gun on not giving Nitroplanes a chance to clear it up. It's not like they can do it that day. It takes a couple of days for it to process and show in your account. I was...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Kurt, I would say no more than 1/8" lite ply is needed. You only have sheet balsa and foam to glue to and the 1/8" is stronger than both already. No need to add weight that will not add any strength.

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

That looks great! What spinner did you use? I was thinking of going with the 74deg Spring Air. Do they have problems?

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Ross, I think the general rule of thumb is to have one ounce of torque for one square inch of area. That means if the area of one aileron is 60 sq. in. you should have a servo with at least 60 in/oz...

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Go with the one for the D9. It is closer to scale size. Get the three blade version and a three blade prop too.

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

Tom, I was looking at those retracts too. I think the ones for the Top Flite kit would fit better, but they are $43 more. http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&W=000245014&I=LXUL86&P=K

RE: nitroplanes.com FW 190 Build

The Spring Air retracts should have a 3/8" hole for their oleo struts or a 3/16" hole for wire. Have yours been modified? If it is a 1/4" hole get some music wire and it will be plenty strong. No...
