RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD

Love all the love for this thread... (started in 2008).

Build it like you mean it.

RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD

On-road guys like to argue on forums more than they do race. That was my conclusion after I built a sweet $1400 converted DM-1.

RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD

I am not sure if these transmission braces would help you, or if they would even work with nitro, but they work great for me.

RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD

I've had some small rocks tear up one of my spurs on my DM-1, but that is it. I run brutal brushless power with my 2 speed as well.

RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD

The first upgrade to any DM-1 should be the brakes.

RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD

I had to go with a ball on top of the steering linkage for mine. Here's a pic from the top. Let me know if you want other pictures from other angles.

RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD

Don't use those crappy foams that come with it, get some better foams for them. The tires rather blow too, but make great bash around tires. Invest in some nice tires soon for the track, it makes a...

RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD

If it's speed you're after, go brushless. No holes needed in body. I hit 87mph with stock gearing on my 2 speed DM-1 on 6s and 2650kv motor.

As mentioned, you'll need a lot of space for those...

RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD

My 2 speed OFNA bell is still holding up to aluminum clutch shoes and the brutal power and speed of a 2250kv Tekin motor. New bearings often (multiple in front) has been the key for me.

RE: OFFICIAL OFNA DM-1 THREAD

I have not been keeping up with OFNA religiously, but I thought the only DM-1e they have is the Spec (1/8) I could be wrong though.

I know you want to go 1/7, but here is my 1/8 conversion if...

RE: Why Doesn't The AMA and the Hobby as a whole market to minorities?

Yes, you need to read the thread. No one is arguing that black people are poor. :)

RE: Why Doesn't The AMA and the Hobby as a whole market to minorities?

One thing I've always loved about this hobby is the fact that race is not involved in anyway unlike everything else in life it seems.

And then I run across this inane thread. UGG.

AMA =...

RE: Just bought a nice LST2!

Weird. Well I can only speak for my truck, and there is no comparison from when it was nitro to it now being brushless. http://www.rccoh.com/rc.how-to/savage.brushless.conversion.html
