RE: Cant get CG on my plane

DaRock is right , that's a very good calculator , you have to just realise that you have a parallel section of wing at the root which will alter it slightly , but not enough to worry about . When you...

RE: Cant get CG on my plane

I don't know how scale the KMP AT6 is but working from a scale drawing and info 30% of the MAC would be almost exactly in line with the windscreen frame. Where are you measuring from ?

RE: Cant get CG on my plane

84mm behind the front of the wing sounds about right. I'm assuming a parallel wing chord of about 12 inches . The AT6 has a swept back leading edge, this is going to mean that the MAC ( mean...

RE: Cant get CG on my plane

where are you trying to balance the model ? it should be at about 25 to 30% of the mean aerodynamic chord. Hard to believe that 24 oz right at the front doesn't move the balance point. What is the ...

RE: Cant get CG on my plane

What sort of fuselage does it have ? Is there a removable cowling in the front . Combatpigg had a very good suggestion - move the engine forward. The longer moment arm will allow you to get the...

RE: Aluminum control horns

James

Its the scale, not the air where it matters. Compared to 3" plus 6/32 bolts used for horns, there is enough of a weight savings to matter (CF or AL).

RE: Aluminum control horns

Thanks Guys,

I have followed the link above and like the horns. Which are lighter, the Aluminum or CF horns? I'd like to buy some of these. Is there a US distributor?

Thanks,
Jim W.

RE: 3 or 4 blade Prop for Plettenberg?

Hi Norm,

I did not notice any problem at all with the controller. I actually borrowed this controller from a friend - until mine arrives. He set it up and I believe must have done it correctly...

RE: 3 or 4 blade Prop for Plettenberg?

Hi All,

This weekend I flew my Plett 30/10 with 21x12WE prop and Tanic 5S2P 4960 packs and C.C. 110 controller. I flew this on my originally glow powered Aggressor. In making the conversion, I...

RE: New Kyosho Oxalys 50 ?

HI All,

My kit arrived and it looks great - no damage. Worth noting is that the components feel very light - even the ailerons have lightening holes in them!!!! This will be a fun plane when I...

Irvine .53, YS .63, or Saito .82

Hi All,

I'm selecting an engine for a new Oaxlys .50 sized pattern plane. I'm familiear with the Irvine .53. That engine really sang on a Hype 3D for me. However, I'm thinking that this new...

RE: 3 or 4 blade Prop for Plettenberg?

Thanks Adam for the pics. I ordered the adapter kit. I think I'll be first flying the system this weekend without spinner. One question on tightening the prop. While tightening the prop last...

RE: aileron differential

HI All,

A quick test for this is to fly into a 45 degree upline and perform high-rate aileron rolls to one direction. You will quickly see if the plane arcs off one direction or the other - or...

RE: FL contests, Apopka & Jax

Hi Ron,

Maybe Billy could post the scores. For the 12 of us who competed there was plenty of raffle prises. Also nice, Billy had ice-chests of drinks for the judges. Break down was 5 in FAI...

Hi Guys,

Does anyone have directions to the field from the Days Inn Airport hotel, or directions from the freeway?

Thanks,

Thanks for posting your information. Please descibe your battery packs a little more. At 4200 mah, how much are you putting back in after a flight? What class are you flying?...

AXI 53XX Pattern motor

Hi All,

I would like to see some comments on the AXI motor Danny L. was using this nats. I believe he was using the 15.75 x 13 APC glow prop. The lower cost of the motor is tempting.
