Don't know about stall either, high speed or otherwise. The tailwheel came down early in the sequence, indicating extreme G loading. A stall would have not 'allowed' the high Gs.

I agree: the article on trim/ balance/ booster was very informative and thorough, and to refresh somes memory: the fast an aircraft goes, the more down (elevator) trim it needs to keep it from...

Smashing down at 400 mph or so, from near vertical dive: fuel was dispersed too quickly to simultaneously attain a proper oxygen/ fuel ratio, AND be exposed to ignition source.
