The engine doesn't care if it's inverted whatsoever.
If you can tune it properly, an on-board glow is not necessary at all.

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD

Maybe the gas engines just use bigger props, and don't need to turn as many RPMs. If money were not object, the Saito FG-36 would certainly rock.

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD

Do you think he was using the flaps on take off? Maybe, but the tail wheel is still firm....

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD

plastic? on those retracts? I imagine they're still pretty tough. We'll wait until the fellow has them set up and take a look then. I don't suppose there will be much flying until spring time...

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD

An alloy spinner like that might cost as much as 100 dollars, or more, no?

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD

Very interesting! Ask him what plane was lucky enough to shoot him down..or maybe it was ground fire? He's lucky to be alive.

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD

It appears that a P-40 shot up the Black 6 plane originally.
They say it is airworthy again, but was given to a Museum where it will never fly.

RE: CMP BF109F BUILDING THREAD

All my warbirds require quite a bit of down elevator to fly inverted. Of course I program very little elevator throw and even then use quite a bit of expo.
