It consists of a special prop nut that fits through the prop and entension and screws on to the existing prop bolt. I have used them and they work fine.

Fox makes prop shaft extensions ( 1/2 and 3/4 inch) but they are only for 1/4 and 5/16 inch shaft diameters. You might be able to drill one out to a larger size.
