RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

Ah, lightbulb turned on. Tubing above the shock valve so it sits further down the shaft and bottoms out sooner when extending.
Might be easier to have two sets of shocks then. One for lower ride...

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

I'd also like to know how some of you are lowering your STs when running on pavement so they don't traction roll as easily.
Is anyone using the buggy springs, or just cutting down the standard...

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

Align 4050 because my LHS has had the Ammo 3900 on backorder since Dec. (I know Tower has it, but LHS was offering a discount and I have rebate credit that could be applied to it.) I would not...

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

They replaced three ESCs and one motor for me before I went brushless. There is a known defect in the ESC from what I've been told by someone at my LHS. As long as you are within the warranty...

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

That makes sense from a handling perspective.

Do you find that you have to tighten the rear diff screw pretty tight to get the wheels to turn the same direction?

Tightening them enough...

*** Ball Diff Problems??? ***

OK, so I've had the ball diffs and steel CVDs in for a little bit and finally went BL.

Per suggestions here, I initally set the diffs just tight enough so...

Congrats!!! Now I'll go ahead and do it myself now that I know someone else did it successfully.

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

Here's a question I've not seen the answer to yet.

I got the DTX steel cvds and assumed that the screws for the wheels were 3mm. I also recall another post about converting to studs instead of...

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

Thanks! That's definitely a good start and something that would be obviously detectable. Are the fronts loose enough so that there is any slippage? With the gear diffs in place, you had direct...

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

Here's a ball diff setup question:

How tight is enough vs. too much? It was fairly easy with the old 1/12 scale road cars since that adjustment also served as your slipper in a way. You could...

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

Once you go to the bigger batteries, just be prepared to change out the ESC. Also, depending on where you are running it, you might go down to a 12 tooth pinion. That would take a bit of load off...

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

OK, so the only waste is the MQ wheels for which I have no use [:@]. I have some 3racing Mini Inferno wheels coming. Might the MQ tires fit those?

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

Sorry, my bad. I guess I missed the .3 part. I suspected it was too good to be true. Those were listed as hop-ups for the Mini Quake. at RC Mart. I assumed they would fit, but didn't look close...

*** New 2mm Steel Pinions ****

Am I missing some small detail, or won't these work with 2mm motors like the Permax and VR3?
If so, maybe I need to go get Permax now.

Atomic Carbon Steel...

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

Maybe use the axle conversion previously mentioned and use red loctite on the CVD end, locking nuts on the wheel end. Shouldn't that work with your steel CVDs, plus keep them from backing out like...

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

Which Ammo do you have (3900 or 5100)?
What kind of run times with the IB1400?
How is it that you run cooler with the IB1400 over the DTX 1200? Are you talking pack, motor, or both?
Running an...

RE: OFFICIAL VENDETTA THREAD!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for the feedback. Since the price diff was most significant with the CVDs, that's where going with a 3rd party option saves the most.

Were those the aluminum or steel Atomic diffs?...

Brushless Vendetta ST Prep

OK, I'm taking the brushless plunge after being burned out of burning out stock ESCs. I know the suggestions are steel CVDs and possibly ball diffs.

My question...
