RE: H9 Spitfire Build

In the entire 57 pages of this thread (and I've read every one of them) there has not been a single reported incident of the wing bolts loosening up. I use simple washers between the bolt head and...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

Here are two pics from my cowl, with a Saito .91 installed. I just cut enough to clear the engine, and another 1/5" long hole to duct the exhaust. Haven't had a single issue with heat.

As for...

RE: Hits and Misses of H-9 Corsair

We have grass fields as well, but some very dedicated members keep it mowed every week, and often times 2 times a week when it's really growing.

With the grass so short, roll outs on landings...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

Great video! I've tried it with the Flycam, but never came up with any really good footage. Well done! Would like to see a "how to" video for attaching the ipod, the type of iPod used, excetra.

RE: Hits and Misses of H-9 Corsair

Wonder if this issue went on with everyone else that flew this plane. I'm surprized at the lack of information regarding "tweaks" in this thread if it did.

A club member that has a lot of war...

RE: Hits and Misses of H-9 Corsair

I've had to replace the cowl once, and fix the tail twice due to nose over. This last set up was my last attempt at flying this bird. If things didn't work out well, I was going to trash the plane,...

RE: Hits and Misses of H-9 Corsair

Instead of trying to explain how much they stick out...here's a pic. I'm using the Lado retracts. I actually started with a hardwood shim that I sanded down so the the front edge was paper thin,...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

Thread seems to have died out a bit, but what the heck. Had a club member shoot a short video of the Spit.

Enjoy.

Oh, sorry about the music. He did the editing, and uploaded it...would...

RE: Hits and Misses of H-9 Corsair

Success. When I was working on fitting the new cowl, I happened to look at the way the engine was mounted. I don't know why I didn't see it before, but there was a definite up and left pitch to the...

RE: Hits and Misses of H-9 Corsair

I also saw pictures from a while ago when I waded through this thread, but never did figure out how you get them to face forward when the gear are down on struts that rotate 90 degrees. Any other...

RE: Hits and Misses of H-9 Corsair

Thanks to you both. The CG is actually where it is recommended since I moved the gear forward, so I am going to go on the assumption that my airspeed is indeed still too slow for flight.

It...

RE: Hits and Misses of H-9 Corsair

Need some help. Not sure why it's happening, but it is, and its getting old.

I added shims to the gear to move them in front of the CG, and that really helped with ground handling, nosing over,...

RE: Lado retracts, do the really exist?

If they are the 60-2 rotating retracts, I am looking for the electronics/motor. I had a hard landing with the remaining useable pair I have, and pulled the wires out of the retract body. Have...

RE: H9 Spitfire Build

They are in fact the stock wheels. I tried using a softer type, but they all were too deep to fit in the wheel wells. I didn't want to have to tear into the wells to reform them so they were...
