Smartech isn't the one copying the Baja though is it, thats what the thread is about - the Baja clones. I had a look on their site BTW, all i saw were copys of other RC's and variations on stolen...

Do you mean the 'factory in China' as in who manufacturers the Baja for HPI? (HPI being the middleman in your theory)

Because the Baja is actually manufactured in Taiwan.

Ya sure, consumers can buy what they want, i don't dispute that either. I'm more focused on the question "help-me" raised: "What reasons do you have to back the hpi baja over the "knock off"?"

Sure but at the end of the day do you think that we'll see the manufacturer of the clone baja's comming out with any cool new designs, bring out any good aftermarket parts? Or is their contribution...
