RE: Gazaur Mars 480

The sale prices certainly make the Mars and Poseidon helis appealing. I just hate replacing the lower frames every time I crash.

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

Unfortunately, that's how you learn - you do need to get a cheaper "beater" heli, though.

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

I'm also flying a Trex 500 ESP - I'm flying 6S1P 3000mAh batteries on mine.

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

I've finally had enough of the Gazaur Mars helis.  The lower frame really does break too easily - and it's because of the landing gear setup putting stress on the weakest part of the frame.  It...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

I am perfecting my 3D maneuvers and I also tend to break the SSG frames when I crash - my crashes tend to be real ground-pounders.  I'm considering trying the CF frames, but I hate how expensive they...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

I also have the same head wear with my Mars. However, I don't have any binding problems. A Teflon insert would have worked nicely to prevent wearing of the aluminum head.

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

Hmm... I also recall a Futaba TM-14 module recall;).

I fly a Spektrum DX7 which has operated flawlessly and I'm sure I would be equally as satisfied with a Futaba radio.
I always research the...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

The only issues I had with the Gazaur kits were build issues - and easily resolved. And maybe my kits are later kits, because once built they fly on rails.

My configuration:
Gazaur Mars GF

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

Come on guys - if you're gonna rag the Gazaur heli's and demand that they need to be modified you hafta be flying at the limits. Hovering does not test the limits of these helis. Also, if you...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

Just flew my Mars today - 5 packs. I'm glad the weather finally allowed me to take to the air, and I got the usual spectators drawn to the blade-rap.
These helis are just WAY too precise when...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

I didn't ask about any problems - I've built the Gazaur heli's and I'm more than aware of the issues pertaining to a few of the parts. Once aware of the parts that are of concern, one should be able...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

I fly a Scorpion HK-2221-6 motor with 2200mAh 30C batteries in my Mars, so it doesn't get much more radical than that. My Mars flies on rails and performs all maneuvers crisply and precisely. I'm...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

The flybar grooves in the upper head can bind the flybar if the heli had a crash which caused damage to the upper head. The grooves can be distorted, which will definitely cause some binding. Mine...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

I've been waiting on that hardened part to become available for quite a few months now. I also think they should beef-up the landing gear a bit cuz it flexes too much on a "rushed" landing. I time...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

I sanded mine only to the point of removing some burrs, which allowed the ball to travel freely within the grooves.
I didn't remove anywhere near enough material to introduce slop in the head. ...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

I sanded the grooves in the upper part of the head where the ball slides up/down. Before I sanded these grooves the flybar would stick about half-way along the grooves.

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

I sanded the flybar grooves to prevent sticking and I setup the head for precise control - my Gazaur helis are, by far, my most precise helis.
I would not trade my Gazaur helis for any other...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

My Mars is running HS65HB servos on the cyclic, GY401/S9257, Scorpion HK-2221-6 motor, Scorpion Commander 55A ESC and Spektrum AR7000 Rx.
My heli flies like it is riding on rails and does not drift...

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

I like the venting in your first canopy - I fly a Scorpion HK-2221-6 in my Mars and I just can't get enough venting to keep the electronics cool.

RE: Gazaur Mars 480

Hey all - I just found this thread. Glad to see I'm not the only Gazaur pilot.
I'm flying a Mars GF with Scorpion HK2221-6 and Scorpion Commander 55A ESC controlled by Spektrum DX7.
I've been...
