No idea on what you are building or what size but maybe you could drill round holes and use a dowel for the spar.
If you have a top and bottom spar to join, it could be done with typical shear...

Zenoah G-62 tach readings

25-30 pound plane, 22-10 Zinger pro, regular gas with 32:1 oil, 7500rpm.
Same setup with a 24-10 the engine ran too hot and only got 6100rpm.
