Try cleaning the one-way-bearing with some WD-40. When you are done with a run, make sure the nose of the vehicle is down some. This will help keeping the one-way-bearing from accumulating...

Does it have a slide or a rotory carb?
If it is a slide carb, yes.
It it is a rotory, you might be able to attach one to the throttle servo. Check the redcat or himoto forum, they can help.

You might also check in to installing a throttle return spring. If the receiver battery disconnects (comes unpluged or the swithc fails) or looses power the fail safe will not work.
