Well, I just decided to go all in. I ordered a set of superskids, a tail rotor, and 3 lipo 850mah 7.4v batteries for $80 and got a set of free main blades. I can't wait to get this thing in the air....

This sounds oddly like what I've got, too. The tail rotor came away from the gear, and the power seemed to drop there after. I've been blaming it on the batteries, but I don't have the first clue why...

Thanks Bones. I don't have a multi-meter. The motor is new, I've turned it on at most 10 times. I think the common link is the charger saying the batteries are charged before they actually are. What...

Howdy folks! I got a F40 for Christmas along with the esky usb tx simulator. I'm completely new to rc, but I'm having fun with a simulator on my mac. I'm having trouble with the real heli though....
