RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

I though about going to CF but all the energy that the aluminum gear will dissipate in a crash would be lost with CF gear. In a crash where you took a big "gear hit" with CF gear you would probably...

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

Sorry about the crash man, KE loops are no joke they can get ugly real quick. I bashed the snot out of mine and I was impressed with the strength of the gear mount, it can take a huge hit on the gear...

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

Short ones are for the rudder

I use the inner holes for my controls, it decreases servo resolution a bit but increases control deflection for 3D. I ground the outter holes down so they dont hit...

Yeah with where most of us are with our flying skills it isn't the dumb thumb that gets ya, its the small details that you overlook trying to get you plane ready to fly at 11pm the night before. I...

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

Yep extreme flight takes care of customers first and bottom line second. They are a rare exception in this hobby. Others that come to mind are Desert Aircraft and Dons Hobby shop. Also I continue to...

A 24 inch will be fine, those servos will be fine as well, as long as they are metal gear and 200 ounce torque or better but they are a bit slow.

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

Vess Props are killer for 3D. With your set up you would want to consider a Vess 22A , 22B or 23A The 23B may be to much load onfor a DA 50 on a pitts muffler. When I ran a pitts on my DA I had a...

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

A 45 degree DA would be interesting, the throttle link would have to be redone. As far as exhaust you would be forced to use cans or a pipe but to do it you would have to make your own header to get...

Yeah I guess ply is the way to go. I was considering using zinc washers but I am not sure how well you could get them glued to the ply fuse side.

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

At 5000 feet you may want to consider getting a tuned pipe, MTW or ES. I really think you will have an issue getting the pull out you want at that altitude with stock exhaust regardless of prop. Keep...

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

You know you may be right Joe, with that metering diaphragm vent hole so close to the gap in the firewall there could be some wacky air PSI stuff going on there. Maybe as you recommended he should...

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

That is weird, any chance your fuel line is getting kinked or your vent line is getting blocked ? Do you have to choke the engine most times to get it started ? If so maybe your pumper diaphragm in...

RE: Extreme Flight Extra 300, 50cc, 88.5inch Wingspan, Build !!!!!!!

You do not need 2 batteries for that set up, one 2600 miliamp will run it just fine. You do need to check you batteries before every flight with a load checker to make sure they are performing...
