RE: EF YAK 88 with DA-50 needs more power?

If you're into 3D and need more thrust, the Vess 23A will be the best 3D prop for your DA 50 & heaver plane. I tried it on my DLE-55, don't recall the exact RPM but I believe it was around 7300rpm on...

RE: DLE 111 Cylinder Bolt Torque

Nah, been having some troubles with the new 111 I bought, plus I haven't had an ounce of time to finish building her yet. I figured why rush it for a couple weekends; it'll give me something to do...

RE: DLE 111 Cylinder Bolt Torque

There a reason you're changing to a v2 crank? Why not go to v3 if you're doing all this work? April 2011, they added a rear crank bearing, new case, etc ; see below.

**DLE Engines made a running...

RE: Cylinder Head Temps.

The Aurora 9's telemetry system is a 3rd way to meausre head temps in flight. I find myself more interested in in-flight rpm & temps of both heads on my engines than I ever thought I would. It's cool...

RE: STIHL oil ?

:) Haha, no worries and that statement wasn't directed at you. It was directed at who I quoted as well as the general sentiment of many on the forums as of late, not necessarily this thread. I knew...

RE: STIHL oil ?

I just use my own calculator program I wrote when I was bored at work. :P Allows me way more flexibility in calculation options over all the gas/oil calcs I've found online. Maybe I'll have to share...

RE: Anyone compare DA-50 / DLE-55 / DA-60?

Hey that's my review/RPM #'s of my DLE-55 Soarrich! haha I've retested it's numbers after a few more gallons through it, and it's even better now. I got that 22x8 Xoar prop to turn 7440 at one point!...

RE: DLE 111 tuning question.

Yep, just richen the LSN a bit and you'll be golden. Still a good idea to do a once-over to make sure there's no visible air leaks or issues.

RE: DLE 111 tuning question.

Not sure what you mean by "gains rpm after flight". But what I'm guessing you're meaning is that once you've been flying around (hot engine) the engine doesn't want to come back down to a low idle...

RE: DLE-111 dies at full throttle- HELP!!

Did you make sure you properly reattached the diaphram post into the meter lever fork? It's not supposed to simply sit on top or your main jet will be metering too much fuel throughout the rpm band....

RE: DLE 111 tuning question.

If it starts becoming hard to start cold, give that LSN a 1/16th rich tweak as you're right in the sweet spot now.

RE: STORING YOUR GAS ENGINE FOR THE WINTER

Guess what I do when I want to run 100LL AV gas? I turn on the valve on the fuel tank at home and fill my jerry cans, as we have 500 gallon tanks of 100LL for my dad's Cessna Cardinal 177RG and all...

RE: Best 100 - 120cc engine for 3D

IMHO I would go with something more powerful than the DA-120 if you think the DLE-111 is lacking in power. Yes the 120 has more power, but on stock pipes you'll turn a 28x12 instead of 28x10. There...

RE: A123 Ignition Battery - voltage regulator or diodes?

+1 on the $0.05 diode voltage drop. Been doing this on my gassers for 2 years now on A123's.

7965MG. It's the most accurate/repeatable/centering Hitec servo with great speed from a few that have tested many. Many of us run this as throttle servos on our GS gassers. I too cheaped out on my...

2 - Ail1-2
3 - Ail2-1

RE: Servos For 35% IMAC Flying

RE: Servos For 35% IMAC Flying

Vegas, just so you know in my new 35% (and previously in my 33% Yak) for IMAC I run:
4x 5985MG in the ailerons
2x 5955TG in the elevators
1x JR8711 on the rudder
1x 7965MG on the throttle...
