RE: RC Car Actions "How to port a Nitro Engine"

Adam, I agree bit time with what you said in your last line. While you can gather good basics online and in the forum's your not going to turn someone into a nitro engine Hot Rodder overnight or...

RE: RC Car Actions "How to port a Nitro Engine"

RE: RC Car Actions "How to port a Nitro Engine"

True Adam it is hard to argue with the Dyno and experience better yet. I can go into a load of questions on this one, but let me ask you when you modify the timing on a given motor does it normally...

RE: RC Car Actions "How to port a Nitro Engine"

Hey looks really good. One thing I noticed on the pro's crank above is his turbo grooves swirl in a very circular pattern to match the rotation of the crankshaft while it is turning in the motor and...

RE: RC Car Actions "How to port a Nitro Engine"

This crank looks like a work of art....I know this took some time and effort. I can easily see how this will flow better and help push the intake charge up towards the intake port and reduce drag on...

RE: RC Car Actions "How to port a Nitro Engine"

This is a duh question but not in front of a motor right now....Crank Rotation is clockwise for a running motor when looking at it from behind? What type of scoop is to be made on the counter...

RE: RC Car Actions "How to port a Nitro Engine"

I would say square sharp edges are never a good thing where airflow has to come into play and go around. Does make turbulence and less of a smoother flow. Obviously different areas or more of a...

RE: RC Car Actions "How to port a Nitro Engine"

I can understand how that is.....I sometimes like tinkering more with RC cars and real ones than I like driving them. But it still is great to get behind the controls and let it rip....What a...

RE: RC Car Actions "How to port a Nitro Engine"

It should be no surprise, but if you read enough and ask questions and practice you can eventually do some of the smaller mods and get your motor to pickup some it seems. But to get where the...

RE: RC Car Actions "How to port a Nitro Engine"

Looks like nice looking work. Since this sleeve probably belonged to a high performance turbo racing motor, I would be curious to see what the stock sleeve looked like in comparison to your now...

RE: RC Car Actions "How to port a Nitro Engine"

True pictures can only show and guide you so much and that is not the knowledge one needs to by far only arm theselves with. Not that these little two strokes work quite the same way as a gas...
