RE: Club FOX!

Can't argue with your logic. To be honest, it is beginning to get a little tiresome( for lack of abetter word)at this point. Lately I have spent much more time fiddling with finicky engines, than I...

RE: Club FOX!

I made a gasket, and put everything back together. It doesn't leak anymore, but it still isn't running right. It will peak for about 3 seconds, as before, and then lose 1000-1500 rpm, but now it will...

RE: Club FOX!

I e-mailed Fox to find out about the gasket/o-ring. I had it turning some good rpm's for a while there, but it would't hold them. I've got the carb taken apart and am cleaning it while I'm waiting to...

RE: Club FOX!

I think I have found my problem. I adjusted the pipe until I got max rpm, but I noticed that when I opened the high speed needle enough to get max rpm, the engine would flood on the next transition...

RE: Club FOX!

OK...I ran two tankfulls of 5% omega through the engine. I got some rather strange results. Before, without the pump, or pipe, running a stock muffler with 15% omega, I got 11700 rpm on top end and...

RE: Club FOX!

Just out of curiosity, I switched it back to rear exhaust, and have hooked up a pipe and a perry pump. It originally had a nipple installed for a pump, but I removed it and plugged the hole when I...

RE: Club FOX!

You guys are really gonna think I'm nuts. What I thought to be a ring, instead looks like a groove in the piston. I think this engine is an ABC, not ringed. The box that this engine was in read...

RE: Club FOX!

I have no idea of this engine's history, other than that it spent the last 5 years or so in storage. I bought it, and a bunch of other rc related items, from the family of a departed rc'er. It has...

RE: Club FOX!

Funny you should suggest that. I was on the perry site this morning, looking for a carb and an adapter. Now all that is left is deciding whether it's worth investing that much. I'll probably do...

RE: Club FOX!

No luck. I even unhooked the pump altogether and ran it with no pressure. When it was tuned correctly for a reliable idle, it would load up and quit at about 1/4 throttle. When I tuned it to run...

RE: Club FOX!

Makes sense. I'll lower the pressure and see what happens. Thanks</p>

RE: Club FOX!

Sorry, it's a Fox Eagle 60 ringed, with the "old style" carb. It is running better with the pump, but still not as good as it should. Before the pump, it would lean out on top end when I pointed the...

RE: Club FOX!

I have run across a problem. I mounted the engine on a GP Extra 300. I tuned the bottom and top end. It runs great sitting on the table, but when I put it on the ground and taxi out to get ready to...

RE: Club FOX!

Well, I spun the cylinder back so the fins are parallel with the airflow, removed the nippleand plugged the hole in the crankcase( put there for a pump), attached a standard muffler instead of a...

RE: Club FOX!

Exactly. As it is now, the fins are wrong. Had the person who rotated the cylinder, alsorotated the head so the fins were again parallel with the airflow, I probably would have never been the wiser.

RE: Club FOX!

I think I've been wrong about this engine. I don't believe it was originally a rear exhaust, but a standard Fox Eagle IV or something similar that has had the head turned and the crankcase drilled...

RE: Club FOX!

....or, if I must use a pump, how far away can I mount it from the engine. The plane I want to put the engine on has no extra room in the engine area. I'd either have to mount the pump on the outside...

RE: Club FOX!

What can I expect, performance wise, if I use a pipe, but not a pump? Can I just plug the crankcase nipple and use exhaust pressure? The tuned pipe I've got has a nipple on it.

RE: Club FOX!

Thanks, that's the info I was looking for....now to find a suitable plane:D...I'm considering the cmp Swallow, and I've got a wanted ad posted, hoping to find a good used pattern type plane.

RE: Club FOX!

The exhaust is facing to the rear on this particular engine, and it came with the proper pipe for rear exhaust. I was just curious whether this was a high performance rear exhaust engine, (like the...

RE: Club FOX!

This may be a dumb question, but....Is this a true rear exhaust engine from the factory, or is it just a standard 60 that was changed from side to rear exhaust? Sorry, but I'm new to the Fox engines....

The engine came in the box, but there are no instructions. The nipple on the rear of the crankcase......for a pump, maybe? Any suggestions on props, fuel, glow plugs, etc, would be greatly...

RE: Club FOX!

I just picked up my first Fox engine. The box reads "26800 Fox Eagle 60RC ABC- For Pipe" It has rear exhaust and came with a header. Good engine??
