I have a T.T.Pro 46 on mine, about the same weight as your AX. I had to put a heavy dubro spinner nut on the nose. I like the C.G.at the middle of the wing servos.

Freebird don"t give up on this edge! While this is not a 3D airframe its a very good sport plane.I think your on the right track
the super tiger 2300 would work great, also look at the O.S. 160....

Mine flies great with a T.T. pro. 120, at 34. oz. How does yours balance with the gaser ? At twice the wieght of my T.T. 120 I would think its nose heavy.

Try a longer servo arm. Also if you use the supplied shrink-wrap make sure its not hitting servo arm when servo is maxed.

I will mount engine inverted and use a remote glow. Also plan to use a m.k. bellcrank and carbonfiber pushrods for elevator set-up.

magnets for holding down hatch. Beef-up...
