RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Vimes it is widely believed that the diode need to be moved in order for everything to work but that is a myth. The diode is a flyback diode which helps to protect things in case of a voltage spike...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Karl I did use the century HP tail motor with the slo-max. It is considerable better than the OEM motor. I didn't have to much trouble using it in that capicity and they last foever. I got around...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

All good advice gentlemen. Fuse mod = $$$ saved for sure. slo-max + lipo = best brushed motor combo in it's class.

Can't really comment on the triton charging the stock battery. I...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

I run the C505 for my charging needs. Love that charger. Really any one in the voltage range will work. When I first got mine I just used the eflight CX2 stock converter. It's 12V 1.5A. Works...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Jim the HS55 are a good replacment servo for the Falcon. I used them for a long time in mine. The only problem that I encountered is life span. They do tend to wear out pretty quickly and start...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Well the Falcon just wants to shoot for the sky when in wind like that. Actually I have a video of flying my falcon literally just before the one I just posted. It's too long for youtube though and...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Nice to see some of our new guys getting it done. I remember all too well the feeling of having my first controlled hovers. Really gets the heart going. Every time you master somthing new you get...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

That is also where I found mine.

I use deans ultra. This is probably overkill for the wee falcon. I think deans micro would be perfect.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Swivel

That is the receiver and transmitter only. You still need the ESC's, mixer, and gyro which is what is included in the 3-1 controller. A 2-1 is an ESC and mixer and you will need a...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Swivel,

I converted my falcon to 2.4. I bought a CP Pro 3-1 and an ar6200/DX6i. The conversion is pretty easy. You cannot use the stock 4-1 though. You will have to purchase the 3-1 or a 2-1...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Brog is right on. Remove the label on the slo-max and put a heat sink on. Even then it will still run pretty hot. When I got my first one I posted a bunch of times before I was convinced that it...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

2 AA's will work just fine. When running the slo-max you'll wanna just run it until the batteries are dead. On the tail motors about 90min is good. they will run for hours on 2 AA's without...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

You WILL want to break in that motor. I didn't break in the first one I had and it only lasted 46 flights. My current one is on flight 86 and going strong and I did break it in. That little motor...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Set screw type are easier to deal with. You can slide them on and set the screw. I would strongly advise using some loctite on the shaft prior to putting it on though to keep it secure. A pinion...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

I have found that 10t is probably the best for a slo max on my bird at least. I tried 8, 9, 10, and 11. I would recommend trying to find a pack with a few different sizes and experiment to see...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Soul I did in fact breifly turn my 40 into a CPP. I already had most of the pieces including the 3-1 which I installed when I went to the DX6i. You have to buy a CPP frame, head, shaft, blades, and...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Never tried the NRII canopy but it is for the same class heli and should in theory work. Just like the CPP canopy you may end up doing some modding to get it to fit. At any rate any modifications...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

I know that the walkera #4 will fit and I believe the HBFP too. I have a CP Pro canopy on mine currently but it does require some cutting to get it to fit right plus the grommet holes don't line up...

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Jim,

You can do the same with your falcon and a lipo. I fly mine until I can't gain altitude anymore and my cells are almost always in the 3.4v range.

RE: Falcon 40 (Exceed heli) Forum

Torch - All you need to do is take the main blades off, power everything up without soldering the wires on. Now apply a little throttle and touch the tail wires to the posts on the tail motor. It...
