OS FT120 twin

Gen I FT120. Set up with RCEXL ignition. Turns over smoothly/no roughness felt, but bearings are gummed up some--see pics. Only bench run, first on glow, then on ignition. Very low time, compression...

I have both; the VV20 was slower to break in, and was disappointing at first. It only turned a 17x6 Xoar beech at about 7800. My brand new DLE20 turned the same prop 82-8300 out of the box. ...

Matt, have you ever run the OS on a canister? I know you've done quite a bit with pipes, but I'm curious if a canister will add anything, as I've heard the stock pitts muffler is quite restrictive. ...

I had that plane last year for about 125 flights before I dumb-thumbed it; replaced it with the 60" Laser. Used Spektrum A5040's in both, which I liked for a while due to low price and digital/MG. ...

Here's a link to a vid with Joe Smith on a 71" Slick/OS33 with stock muffler. According to the comments, he was running a Falcon 18x9. It sounds similar to mine on the 20x6 Xoar; some prop rip, but...

I was thinking of the original Tclips on floats; anyone done that setup? Now though, the new 70" version has me re-considering! :) Any word on price for the 70?

Bill, the new 21cc appears to use the angle plug cylinder from the VV40--should make a much more compact package to fit more cowls. You should buy one and we can flight test it! ;)

Zach, just think of a front sprocket on a mtn bike: for the same driveshaft speed (pedal crank on bike; output splines on servo), the farther out you go, the more distance and the faster the speed,...

RE: OS (or DLE) v/s Saito

+1 on what nitrowing said! You always need to take advice given online with a grain(shovelful?) of salt, but our friend ameyam has repeatedly ignored said advice and done it his own way anyway...

RE: **Seagull Nemesis** The need for speed build thread!!

That's a sweet looking setup! Did you have those custom made with the turned down front entry tubes and bottom exit tubes? Does anyone distribute those in N America? [8D]

RE: Katana 50 disscontinued ?

Not sure what happened with the Katana 50; it sure wasn't around long! Horizon blew 'em out for $99 bucks a few months ago; they were a sweet deal at that price!

RE: funstar 3d?

Now THERE's a good plan of attack! A good foamy, and a good balsa profile, are great learning tools that are MUCH easier on the wallet, so you can fly your pretty 30cc and up plane later with less...

RE: funstar 3d?

tmax, if you want a good looking, good flying ARF, I would look to 3DHS or Extreme Flight. Any of the 48-60" planes from them fly awesome. I've even seen a couple of glow conversions of the 60"...

RE: What's the deal with OS Gas Engines

The reason the 33 is currently less than the 22 is that it is part of Tower's "100 Best Deals" promotion. They knocked the price down to $399 for the duration; other discounts like the Tower SS Club...

RE: Katana 50 by Hangar 9

What servos are you planning on using in the tail? If bigger/heavier than minis (i.e. Hitec 225mg size), you'll probably want the heavier motor to help balance. If it were me, I'd go with the...

RE: Performance Aircraft Unlimited - Are you kidding me...you can't be seriuos
