i've had a hub bearing fall apart on my before... but that was old and had seen lots of abuse... for the most part as long as you lube your bearings regularly and your tires aren't too unbalanced...

you should be able to hook that up to castle link or duratrax's version of castle link and tune it a bit better, and turn down initial punch and suchhh

do you know if it had bushings or bearings in the transmission, if it had bushings it definetly an ext, and if it had a ball differential it's an ST.
