The 6EX is Futaba, available from Tower in a 2.4ghz model. $260 w/ 4 servos. This is the link to the AIRPLANE model. The one that is $10 less is for Helis.

Even any other Futaba radio will work, as long as it has a cable port on the back - doesn't have to be a 'buddy box'.

So the best thing to do is contact the club you will be joining, ask if they have buddy boxes, and what brands they have.

Futaba is so common, they just might have a Futaba box around.
