RE: Unofficial

I have those 3 bladed props sitting in my garage to try out. I'll report back when I try them out, should be fairly soon...

RE: Unofficial

@s2k_matt, where did you find a new impeller? I finally gave up on my old drive and ordered an entire new drive off ebay, mostly just to get a new impeller...

I ordered some small 3 bladed...

RE: Unofficial

I found that putting the weight forward actually helped more. I think putting all the weight in the back causes the boat to porpoise (the nose bounces) and it sucks air. If you move it forward the...

RE: Unofficial

For anyone who's broken an impeller. I bought an Octura 531 and put it on the original shaft using a piece of k&s 1/8" brass as a spacer. I pressed the tubing into the prob with a vice, then...

RE: Unofficial

I broke my impeller on the stock jet pump this weekend. Now I'm torn about what to do. There don't seem to be any really great options for finding a replacement impeller. Any advice on which of...

RE: Unofficial

Ryan, I would get this pack for $.50 extra (it's got a higher C rate and better wires):

RE: Unofficial

If you're going to use CA, do yourself a favor and get the slow cure CA and some insta-cure. The insta-cure is a spray that hardens the CA basically immediately. That way you can put the glue on,...

RE: Unofficial

You can get a similar cooling mount that should work for an outrunner here: http://www.offshoreelectrics.com/proddetail.php?prod=ose-509b14

RE: Unofficial

That cooling jacking rocks. Did you build it yourself or buy it somewhere?

RE: Unofficial

I'm going to back ryanwilson on this one. If he kept the original servo mount/clamp setup and put velcro on both the top and the bottom, I could see that holding a servo really well. It will have...

RE: Unofficial

Ryan, you can run an uncooled aircraft esc (the cheaper one you linked to) without water cooling it. I'm running an e-flight 25amp esc with a 3000kv heli outrunner. It pulls about 25 amps at full...

RE: Unofficial

You can run nimh. You just won't get quite as long of run times because the esc will be setup for a lipo and have a low voltage cutoff. Basically all the programming does battery wise is set if the...

RE: Unofficial

I'm running a 3000kv outrunner (it's a heli motor). I soldered some tubing to an 1/8" aluminum plate and mounted that between the jet pump and the motor. I run it on 3s, 2200mah packs and it...

RE: Unofficial

Sometimes it takes a while to show up on the shippers site. Basically the merchant prints a mailing label, at that point they get a tracking number which they send to you. From there it may be up...

RE: Unofficial

wheelnut, there's a pretty decent photo of the setup on page 1 of this thread. Basically though, the motor mounts straight to the jet unit, leaving minimal distance between the end of the motor...

RE: Unofficial

It's pretty tight for a flex cable. There's only about 1/2" between the end of the motor shaft and the prop shaft. I would think the solid coupling it comes with would be the most efficient.

RE: Unofficial

Anyone know where I can get an aluminum coupling to replace the stock on? I drilled one end of mine out for a 3mm shaft and now I'm using a 2.3mm shaft. I put some k&s tube in as a shim but it's...

RE: Unofficial

I have that same motor (2700kv though) and it gets incredibly hot with no cooling on 11.1v. I went to Lowes and bought a piece of 1/8" aluminum stock and soldered some k&s brass tubing to it, I'll...

RE: Unofficial

So most people probably already realize this. But you will need some water cooling on that motor. I thought I could get away with not having cooling, but I ran it for about 5 minutes the other day...

RE: Unofficial

Technically there is no 1/2 throttle on the stock setup. Mine was not proportional. I wouldn't be surprised if the factory has minimal (or no) QC and the folks in that video just got a bum boat.

Yeah, mine came fully sealed. Speaking of that. Anyone have any tips about waterproofing around the jet unit? I tried a bead of glue around the outside on the bottom, but mine leaks like a...
