RE: gear to convert a C02 model

Clovus,

It would a lot easier if you can come up with one of the 2-cell ESCs made for that system. You are looking at 65 - 70 grams AUW, an that suggestes a need for 40+ grams of thrust. A...

RE: RC ornithopter www.thefenice.com

First post, have something too good to be true that you are selling, no pictures, video or even a web site? Why don't your personal assurances make me feel confident?

RE: Sharkies Machine 35 Scratch Build

Bruce,

Nice looking model, retro but modern at the same time. good to hear it flies well for you. Did the covering ever tighten up satisfactorily?

RE: Micro Cessna 210 RTF Electric

Yes, it works as described. Half-loop, add 'down'at the top and fly out inverted. A bit of 'up' with full rudder helps roll it out of inverted flight.

Full down from level flight only results in...

RE: Air Hogs Aero Ace to Parkzone Micro Cessna

There's not much you're going to learn from the AAs other than left is right when the plane is coming towards you. The biggest advice I can give is to use gentle stick movements so you don't...

RE: micro flight

That 3D model is HUGE! For a small one check out Nicks 9", 11 gram RTF (scroll down a ways): http://microflierradio.com/ReadytoFlyPlanes.html

RE: you're gonna love this - new AA

The motors were tested in 2005 at 3.7 V. It was found that the motors will get hot at WOT if they are propped to give any load, even at the single cell voltage. Running two cells would most likey fry...

RE: Micro Cessna 210 RTF Electric

It depends on the type of flying you are doing, but mine last for 15 to 20 minutes. I've had 30+ minute flights with some thermal assist... The plane with get sluggish before you do any damage to the...

RE: Micro Cessna 210 RTF Electric

Try a different glue if yours isn't doing the job. UHU-Creatif is good for this foam. It is very sticky and yet flexible, and it is clear. Another option are the 'No Sew' type glues from the home...

RE: Sharkies Machine 35 Scratch Build

Great model, and I love the two-tone 'paint' job. It looks more like a Wakefield than an Embryo at this size!

The Future finish looks pretty good. Someone just tested this and found it to be...

RE: Micro Cessna 210 RTF Electric

The eclipse is a nice radio. I was the only 72 Mhz guy last couple of times I went to T.O. to fly, so frequency control is easier for me, too!

What I meant was keep what you have and fly the 10...

RE: Micro Cessna 210 RTF Electric

I was at the AMA show yesterday. From what I saw there, if you are going to replace any radio, get a 2.4. There are 2 gram RXs for them (some even lighter ones, but not for general consumption,...

RE: Micro Cessna 210 RTF Electric

I wonder if the mode switch jas an effect of the push-the-left-stick-straight-in (like a button) function. Some times it takes a few tries.

RE: think of buying Mirage 2000 jet..Have questions

Learning to fly an R/C model is hard enough as it is with a prop plane. I don't think an EDF is the way to go. At least with a prop, if (read: 'when') you get too slow and stall, a prop keeps moving...

RE: Micro Cessna 210 Minimum battery charger problem :(

You are correct sir! The low battery warning appears to be a flashing warning when the cell is removed.

RE: Owl vs mini ???

Most of our resident hawks feed of ground mammals, so they are not a big threat to model avaition. A non-resident Northern Harrier took a pass at my 10" WS A4-D Skyray (One of these with Minium R/C...

RE: Micro Cessna 210 RTF Electric

You don't need to sweat servo reversing, mixing or servo assignment. A friend of mine makes a nice, easy to add board that makes them very versitile. See Richard's thread here:...

RE: Micro Cessna 210 RTF Electric

You still can. They TX is like $40, as are the receiver/servo units. It wasn't that long ago I had to spend $55 per micro servo, so it is a real bargain as far as I can tell.

RE: Sharkies Machine 35 Scratch Build

Nice, Bruce. I like the laminated outlines. They are so easy to do and make such light and strong members. They make me seek out eliptical planforms just for something to laminate. I prefer wrapping...

Nick,

Yes that was the one. Matt was sworn to secrecy regarding the stuff, but the picture above showing the fan/props looked the same. I didn't hold it so I don't know the weight, and he asked...

RE: you're gonna love this - new AA

Nick,

I saw a well-known, master micro builder fly a model that used some of the pre-production fans.shrouds at our indoor event. It was very fast, almost too fast to make circles in the gym....

It depends on what you want to do, what you have (or can afford) to do it with, and what do know how to do. For the best...
