RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

All,

I flew the maiden and second flight on my 81" Bronco today and, WOW!, what a rush! This was the least stressful maiden I have ever flown and this is my first twin. It flies rock steady,...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81

My Bronco is nearing completion and I hope to have it ready for Sod Busters II in Camden, SC, October 23rd and 24th. I had originally chose to use a pair of OS .46 FX engines as Rich had used in his...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

I was just down the flightline from VMO-2 in Da Nang back in '70 - '71. I was a jet engine mechanic with H&MS-11, intermediate maintenance, and I loved watching those Broncos fly. We used to get...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

CanDo,

I've attached a picture of one of the VMO-2 birds from Da Nang but you might also be interested in a picture of one of the Navy Broncos from VAL-4. I was in an intermediate maintenance...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

CanDo, Old Buddy. It's "Oohrah!" Don't you watch Mail Call? Jeez!

But, I have a confession: I spent four years in the Corps that included a tour in Vietnam back in '70-'71. Never once did...

RE: OV-10 Bronco 81"

Hi Ed,

That last picture is getting closer. The cannon-equipped Broncos I recall did not have any type of aerodynamic bodywork surrounding the weapon. Maybe this was removed when I saw it on...

RE: Fiberglass parts for 81"OV10

Hi Ed,

Actually, the cannon that was mounted under the Broncos I saw looked nothing like the one in your picture. These were BIG guns! Like I said, about eight feet long. There was no turret;...

Sierra Precision retracts

I bought a Uravitch 81" Bronco. My first twin. Excited? You bet! I ordered the accessories, wood and engines............all I needed was retracts.

RE: Fiberglass parts for 81"OV10

MX240,

Semper Fi, Bud! I was in MAG11 at Da Nang '70 - '71. VMO-2 was just a few hangars down from us and, like you, I loved watching these birds. Late in '70, the squadron started strapping...
