i have an older dx3. on your transmitter go to the "mix t-3" settings with your mode button. then bump it up to 100 percent. now your servo will work off your throttle signal out of the aux plug...

you can also run the tekno kit direct drive with no brake/reverse programed into the esc, then add mechanical brakes on the third channel.
eliminating the need for a clutch. this is how i set mine...
