Just do yourself a favor and go straight to lipo. That ESC is capable of running 2s lipo but it doesn't have a LVC, just get yourself a low voltage cutoff alarm off ebay.

I'm using a Turnigy 3s 5000mah 20c and it fits in the battery tray nice and snug, but you have to cut out a little section of the battery tray.

Yup that battery will fit, but you will have to cut out part of the battery tray where the battery leads come out which isn't a big deal I had to do it myself.

I'm running an ezrun 8.5 turn 4000kv and stock gearing on 3s and getting a max speed of 49.8mph, so your guess should be pretty close, maybe even a bit faster [sm=thumbup.gif]

Yeah I also checked the pinion and it was nice and snug, hadn't moved at all, the motor shaft has a flat spot ground down on it and there were no signs of slipping.

I'm running 3s in my storm with stock gearing and an Ezrun 60amp 8.5 turn 4000kv combo and it's doing just fine. Don't get me wrong I do keep a close eye on temps, but I have not approched 200 yet....
