RE: NEW!!! Official Traxxas XO-1 1/7 onroad....

My LHS has seen a lot more business thanks to Traxxas (and Axial, but that's off topic). They sell a ton of Slashes and Minis and run races with them, and have a lot more customers now than they did...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

58 above? How's that sun tan doing? I didn't fly this morning because it was -12, predicted low on Monday is -54. RealFlight would be great for this time of year.

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Don't the 10x8s generate a lot of heat? Someone said a while back that if you run it hard enough with that prop it will burn out the ESC. I cut up my case and put a heatsink on the FET, but how...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

Ready for brushless, DSM, Ailerons, what more could we ask for? I have only had my SC LP for about 2 months but I am very happy with it, the lack of ailerons and power are my only complaints but...

RE: Official Hobby Zone

You'll need new servos and a new ESC as well, stock they are all in 1 unit and you can't swap out just the Rx. The stock servos use a 5 wire connector and you would need standard 3 wire servos to...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Kintec is great! Their parts are good and shipping is fast. I bought a few things for my SV there and can't complain (that coupler is worth the money, a ton better than my Octura one). I tried the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I'd say you're right. I ran it for a little longer and this time didn't stop when it started to smoke (kept an eye on motor temps, BL motors overheat fast with little-no load on them) and let it...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

I just have a can of the Grim Racer grease, the shaft was greased so much I had to wipe off the excess that was oozing out of the strut bushing and out each end of the teflon liner. I don't see any...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

What all needs to be cleaned? I flux all of my connections before soldering, makes everything go together SO much quicker, easier, and cleaner. I still think the angle on the stock motor mount is...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

What would cause a flex shaft to break? I finally got the rebuild of my SuperVee done and it made it 50-100 feet and stopped. When I retrieved it there was a little bit of flex shaft left in the...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Wow, that thing is trimmed out nice! Is that with the CF48? The rooster tail looked more like a 3 blade prop but I'm still a noob at boats.

RE: Brushless Apache 24 Questions

Yeah, I've seen the vids but no comprehensive threads or pics about them. I looked all over RCU and OSE for help and couldn't really come up with much. Hopefully I can do better and help someone...

RE: Brushless Apache 24 Questions

Will do. Ordering the parts from OSE soon, should be here Tuesday (Wednesday at the latest). I'll try to remember to get pics along the way and I'll post them up on here.

RE: Brushless Apache 24 Questions

Amp draw is based on the load placed on the motor, as long as we don't go totally wild with the prop the ESC should be fine. We ran it for a few minutes with the stock prop and no water cooling on...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

Be sure to let us know how it works. I've got the Grim Racer 40x52 and didn't like how long it took to hook up, the Graupner props hook up much nicer but I like the looks of the GR prop and the...

Brushless Apache 24 Questions

I'm helping my brother convert his Pro Boat Apache 24 to Brushless and I'd appreciate some input on parts.

RE: Brushless villian ideas

Thanks. I like the stability of the boat with this way, I'm not sure if 2-3 MPH extra top speed is worth the loss in stability. I've got turn fins for it so it won't spin out as easily as it did in...

RE: Super Tune Your Super Vee 27

The 440 is a good prop, but I think the CF props would be a better bet. I'd go with a 42 or a 45 to keep temps reasonable, a 48 is optimal but IMO takes too much extra effort to make it work...

RE: PROBOAT APACHE 24

For the time being I think we should just replace that collet with a better one from OSE. We'll have to cut the sucker off since the grub screw is rounded over but that's fine. If the shaft really...

RE: PROBOAT APACHE 24

Is it possible to use a flex shaft but keep the steerable outdrive? I'm working on my brother's Apache right now and the stock driveshaft and U-Joint has to go but he doesn't want to spend the money...
