The expiration date come up on mine last summer during a cross wind landing.

Earlier that year my DLE 20 blew up during a high speed run down the middle of the runway about 10ft off the ground. ...

You can't use the stock muffler unless you cut the cowl significantly. I tried every way possible to avoid paying Jtec $80 for a muffler but in the end I had to bite that bullet.

I'd like to hear...

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

I used to land and take off on high rates and fly on low rates. I always found myself adding more and more up elevator after the wheels hit the ground to keep it from nosing over. Flaps will make...

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

Yea, none of them fit the DLE 20. I got an MPI nut and bolt from my local hobby shop ($6 or so) or you can go fancy and get the same thing from Tru-Turn for $20. The DLE 20 (if that is what you...

Absolutely not! I have a patent pending on that ignition securing technique and I charge royalties for anyone that tries to use it! ;)

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

I glued a small piece of ply to the fuse raised on small pieces of ply so that I could get a tie wrap or two under it. If that makes sense.

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

Twin would look interesting on a P-51 with the heads sticking out each side. I had a Saito 1.00 on mine before I switched it to a DLE 20. It flew it great using a 14x8 prop.

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

I don't know guys... I have a DLE 30 that I need to do something with and it may be the ESM Petie from TroyBuilt:

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

Well, that sucks. It sounds like you stalled it and it dipped a wing. The flaps work really well on that plane to slow it down. I've dipped a wing a time or two on the landing and it is scary for...

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

Very cool aaroncmh! You're going to really enjoy the plane. If the elevator is a bit twitchy, check the CG again. The plane is pretty tolerant of being a little tail heavy but you pay for it with...

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

You're not going to like this answer but I had an extra insert from another spinner that just so happened to fit perfectly in the WM spinner.

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

Yea, I saw that on a few of the boards and magazines. I would still put the DLE 20 in .60 sized warbirds. It is just such a good fit.

I'm torn between another P-51 and a 70" Revolver with a...

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

Well the 15x10 will make it a bit hotter on the landings but the flaps take care of that. Where you notice the difference between the 15x10 and at 16" or 17" prop is the take off. Its a bit slower...

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

I cut the rods off at the base (didn't use them) and put two servers in the wing like normal flaps are controlled. I had to make a servo bay in each wing.

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

Yea, that is the reason I went with a servo for each flap. Too much slop in the stock system. At high speeds, those flaps will flutter right off the plane.

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

I too am from the old school (first flew RC in the early 80s) but I quit worrying about protecting the RX when I saw that most of the giant scale guys in my club just velcro it the equipment tray...

I've been running a single LiFe battery for plane and engine for a couple of years and haven't had any problems. I use a diode between the switch and ignition (and sometimes a capacitor) to step the...

RE: World Models .60 size P-51 MustangPetie 2nd version

Mine has passed onto the rekit graveyard. I crashed it on a cross wind landing (cartwheel wingtip-nose-tail-wingtip a couple of times). It was still in one peice but was a slinky when I picked it...

RE: Texas R/C Planes Drastick .60 Size

That would be a nice plane with a DLE 20 on it - and a pipe!

I had a H9 Ultra Stick 40 (the red/white/black one) and it is a good flying plane. Mine had an Evolution 60NX (.40 sized .60) on...

RE: Texas R/C Planes Drastick .60 Size

As far as ARF is concerned, not really - other than the GP planes.

AMR RC out of Canada has kits in 30cc, 50cc, 100cc and 150cc versions and they are supposedly easy to build and great fliers.

RE: Texas R/C Planes Drastick .60 Size

My new stick is a copy of an old DAS Stick from the 70s that was blown up and laser cut. I didn't build it but it had never been flown when I bought it. All it was was an airframe and I had to...

RE: Texas R/C Planes Drastick .60 Size

Covering may be Toughlon which is low heat chinese crap. One hit with a high heat iron and it delaminates. There's a reason that plane is soo cheap!

I have quit flying mine and amazingly it...
