RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

Just bought one of these to put in a Phoenix 60 trainer, after my recent first foray into gas (seagull MXS/DLE20)
It will get some heavy use as a club trainer rig and hopefully cut down on the fuel...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Made me dizzy watching that one Jaav. Nice to hear a screaming EF again - I'll have to dust off one of mine sometime.

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

What a way to lose an EF. One of the local blokes was flying one up high a while back - he looked away briefly and never saw it again.

Jaav the radial sounds great. I spoke to a few of blokes at...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Hey Jaav, yeah the EF is always a great backup when all else fails - or you just feel like having a thrash!!

Mine hasn't been up for a while but the twin gets a go occasionally.

Believe it...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Great story John, and welcome on board. I wish I had the skill to cover a wing - it could have saved me 20 or so wrecked wings!

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

After my recent incident I range tested (using the DX6I range function) the HK 6100 knock-off and it came out 75% of the genuine 6110. To be fair the main problem I think was with the Tx antenna...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Nice work Rowdy.

I've only just started slope soaring with a DIU. It struck me as similar-ish to flying the speed EF in very strong wind where you just park it in the air. If I tried an EF on...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Mike, that story cracked me up - priceless :D A similar thing happened to bloke at my local field a few weeks back, though unfortunately in his case the EF just dissapeared out of sight and was...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Great bird there Jaav and what a silky smooth landing.

I've been mainly flying my HK/Art Tech Spit and P51. Still having a hard time landing the Spit without stalling or breaking the UC. No...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Rowdy, that's great! It looks like it flew well. Nice camera work and commentary as usual. So did it feel much different to fly?

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Rowdy I think others are getting their orders in good time. Mine had two planes so I had to pay an extra $15 postage (after the order). After a week they sent a dispatch email but nothing showed up....

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Ouch! Where's the rest of it?

Not too much flying for me this weekend, but I did build and maiden my latest bird - a DIU slope soarer. Now I can still fly when it's windy :D

Jaav did you...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Also beware only one plane per order, which they point out *after* payment is made. [&o]

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

P-51 and Spit. HK says they are ramping up slowly but will have a lot more parts soon.

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Did you blokes notice Hobby King is now shipping from NSW starting with a selection of planes? $15 shipping for 7kgs. This could get dangerous :D

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Jaav you've got quite a hanger going at the moment! Which Bipe did you get? I've had my eye on the Pitts Special.

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

They fit fine in the DX6I and 9X - just not the DX5e.

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

They seem to only stock small batches at a time. You have to wait for email notification then swoop on 'em. I got 5 of them and 5 Assans so for the first time ever I have more spare rx's than...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

I've been using the $15 6110e knockoff from HK - so far so good. Important safety tip though - don't use HK LSD AA cells in a DX5e. They don't quite fit and one popped out on me last weekend mid...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Yep, definitely hold onto that BF109 until you are ready :D. I'd suggest also once you have mastered the EF to buy or build an aileron trainer before sending up the warbird. I did it similar to you -...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Hi Steve, I don't recall my Tx getting really hot so that could well be it. I would get the hobby shop to check it since it will be quick to find the probelm. If it's the Tx I'd insist on a...

RE: Electrafun XP Review/Thread!

Just a Seagull Boomerang - for about $100. Being a rank beginner with gas engines it seemed best to buy something cheap but proven before going aerobatic or making a SPAD. I fired the engine up today...
