nope- it's a ball diff, not a one-way. a ball diff is something like a slipper clutch in an electric pan car. the same pinion coming into the gearbox powers the spur gear. there is a plastic...

i would say that the frame/chassis is bent- it's aluminum (which bends) and you said you hit a post.
