I may have missed it..but does applying this over a fiberglass fuse do any good?

If one thin coat does the trick, why not. The wow vid does not say anything about using sanding sealer so maybe he makes it up by using a thick coat of the Styro. Either way, it looks good.

I noticed you really thinnned the material and it appeared clear, where the WOW video he applies it without being thinnned and it really created a white glossy smooth surface. And he only did one...

What was the reasoning for using sanding sealer instead of just the styro onto the bare wood?
