RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I will have to clock it carefully next time I run the truck. But last time I was at the park, I was doing WOT runs back and forth to try to tune the engine some. I was going pretty much full throttle...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Hey guys, I have a kind of random question. I was looking at the HPI MT forums and there is a lot of debate about the Flux vs. the XL or the Nitro version. This brought up another thing I have been...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

The snow is finally melting here, hopefully will get out and get to run the truck some this weekend (with the top on and 100% finished this time :)). Wanted to thank you all for the help again,...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I also used the Spaz Stix color paint job on my truck, eminent, if you saw the pictures I posted of it. It works great and looks great. However, mine does not look as dramatic as the holographic...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

You can check YouTube for some MT2 videos. I am not sure if many tracks have 4WD stadium track classes though ... most seem to be RC10 GT or 2WD ST's. But I guess that would depend on the track.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Football,

Obviously this is a pretty good truck. Looking at the number of posts in the thread, how long the truck has been around, and how long it has been discontinued but still widely...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

nitro-rob,

I had some clicking when I first put my engine in, but I simply adjusted the meshing on the spur/CB and it went away. You can't have it too tight, or too loose, or it seemed to...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Nice Keith, looking good. And yea, with the body on, they don't look too bad. So am going to just roll with it for now.

I sent rob an e-mail asking this already, but might as well post it here...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Nice pictures guys. I might look into getting that throttle set up, as the stock one seems kind of ... flimsy. It seems like the spring loaded throttle arm would be better than that "servo saving"...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Yea, probably a little overkill, but it would also take care of the eye-sore yellow springs :) Haha.

By the way, what trucks do you run besides the 2 MT2's Keith? Just curious.

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I will try out the covers and see how they go.

These are the ones I was talking about. I have heard a few people talk about them, which is how I found out they existed :) Though, definitely a...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

I would say the springs are "barely" touching the rims. I am using the 18SS+ rims and tires that come stock with the kit. The wheels seem to be a slight bit lopsided, so you get a tiny bit of rubbing...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Awesome spoon. I have been thinking about getting a Savage as my next truck possibly (of course after I run the MT2 more), it looks good.

And I had one other question for Keith. I got those...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Looking good, rob. That picture reminded me, I need to look into getting an after market tuned pipe possibly. I hear they help out quite a bit with performance.

And did you end up finding a rear...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Really appreciate the intellectual talk we have going here, you guys are very knowledgeable and informative. I have only just started thinking about gearing after reading some of the stuff rob has...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Thanks for the sheet, the calculations look accurate to me ... I was never doubting the accuracy. I just don't believe my truck runs at 34MPH.

I have not clocked it yet, like I said before, and...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Where did you get that spread sheet? I would be interested in getting a copy, if you don't mind.

All I know is my kit doesn't have the same specs as yours. The MT2 18SS kit I have is advertised...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Just sent you an e-mail/PM. I mentioned one track that I know of in the area, but I have not been there. I mostly just bash wherever for fun ... and I am pretty new to all this still (have only run...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

So you are looking for the NEW style shock tower? Tower had one for sale (for MT2 only): Rear Shock Tower. Not sure if that is what you need or not. eBay I am sure has better deals on the shock...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Yea, it feels like it could go more. It started raining a crap ton today ... and there are like 60MPH winds and thunderstorms tomorrow. I will try leaning it out some more when it gets nice again. I...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

No, you are right, it is right after I take my finger off the throlle. It is hard to describe, but when you remove your finger from the throttle, the engine is technically in an idle state, as the...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Yea, I am thinking it is possibly too rich still, but temps are about at nominal. The gas that came out of the pipe was probably about a teaspoon's worth, not a ton, but noticeable. I have the OS 18...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Your carb idle screw setting has to do with the car shutting down when you apply the breaks. You need to make sure you have more of a gap when the brakes are applied (and should also be at the same...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

So are you sure you are not getting any air leaks now?

If the engine is reving up to high RPM's it sounds like it is getting air from somewhere. You are saying that braking makes the RPM's drop?...

RE: Official HPI MT2 Thread

Hey guys, I had a quick question about engine tuning. I was doing some speed runs yesterday to try to get my engine tuned up, and leaned out the HSN so the engine runs anywhere between 185/190-220...
