RE: Great Planes Reactor GP/EP 3D ARF .46-.70

Finally got a chance to fly my reactor several times today. I'm having a problem keeping it in a hover. It wants to rock the wings and try to nose over, just won't hold a hover well at all. I've got...

Broken Receiver Antenna

I was flying my Trex 450 and crashed it today. I had one of the antennas attached to the landing gear and whent he gear broke off it ripped one of the antennas out of my 617FS. I opened up the...

RE: Hobbico Superstar .40 ARF.

You can do it whichever way your prefer, doesn't really matter. If you do the straps just make sure you secure them fairly tight, use a lockwasher and locktite.

RE: Well, it finally happened...

I would drill a hole on each side of the peg and epoxy 2 dowel rods in the wing. Then drill 2 holes in the corresponding part of the former. This "should" hold it ok.

RE: blade-400 or a t-rex450??????????

Spend the cash and get the 450. I've crashed twice in learning and it cost me less than $10 per crash. One was $1.50 and the other was $6.00. You can find a decent used trew 450 se v2 on ebay for...

RE: YA'LL CAN-DO !

A guy at our field has a 60 size UCD with a saito 91 on it and it flies ok, not all out 3D power though. You might just go with the 46 size UCD. A few guys at the field have them and they love them...

RE: Hovering head in woes

Hey, that's a pretty clever idea. Kinda similar to what I did when I was learning to fly planes. When headed nose in I would repeat low wing, low wing, but as you said, this works for any orientation.

RE: Hovering head in woes

Can you hover with the heli facing left or right in front of you? Practice tail in hovering, turn the plane left and practice hovering, then the plane left again to be nose in and practice hovering,...

RE: Seagull Extra 300S .75

Yeah I finished building it a while back. I ended up putting a Saito 115 on it and replaced the tank with a sullivan 12oz. I'm far from an expert pilot but it flies very well. It's extremely...

RE: Futaba FASST 2.4 T7C

I've never heard this to be a necessary fact with the 617FS receiver. I have 7 of these with most wrapped in foam here in texas heat with no problems, as do several others at the field. Maybe if you...

RE: First Chopper

A higher head speed makes the heli more stable. You really want to stay away from a higher collective if you are new, these helis will shoot up and down in a heartbeat with a high collective. I would...

RE: Great Planes Reactor GP/EP 3D ARF .46-.70

I'm using a saito 82 inverted. I noticed today that the cowl even had an angle to it and that's why the centering marks on the firewall were off to one side. Now my only problem is the engine won't...

RE: Well, it finally happened...

No, they understood the situation perfectly. Then proceeded to tell me because I put the saito 82 on there I was S.O.L. Tried to explain I had never even run the engine at full throttle or done...

RE: Great Planes Reactor GP/EP 3D ARF .46-.70

How did you guys end up mounting your engines? I'm starting to mount mine but I'm wondering about the angle as far as to the fuse goes.

It looks like the firewall is not square with the fuse. Is...

I know Ken, it's hard to see in the original picture. I wasn't seriously directing it at anyone.

RE: Well, it finally happened...

I'm not an idiot guys, I know why my plane crashed. The peg did in fact shear off causing the wing to not be attached to my plane anymore. You can see where it actually took some of the epoxy from...

RE: Problems with hovering

Where is your exit ventilation hole? You have to have an exit hole larger than intake. This will make a negative pressure at the rear to suck the hot air out. Only having an intake will just create a...

RE: Well, it finally happened...

I was planning to reinforce it, I just hadn't gotten to it. I'm not ticked off mainly that the wing came off, everyone has a problem here or there in production. What really got me mad was being told...

RE: Great Planes Reactor GP/EP 3D ARF .46-.70

Hey guys, just got me a new reactor to replace my big stik that the wing came off on. Almost got it put together, done just about everything people have done on this thread. Reversed landing gear,...

RE: Well, it finally happened...

Yeah it's really got me pissed off, even more so than the plane breaking. I think I'm gonna have to take this reactor back, I may be done with great planes products now.

RE: Well, it finally happened...

The peg on the center leading edge of the wing, you can see part of it, but the part that connects with the fuselage is what broke off.

I stopped by the hobby shop today to get some parts for my...

RE: Well, it finally happened...

I plan to rebuild it, just not right away. That little peg on the front breaking has really got me irritated with this plane.

I already have a seagull extra 300s 75 size that I've flown a few...

RE: Well, it finally happened...

Thanks for the replies, I wish I had even had a chance at knife edge. At least those guys still had one wing, I just had a fuselage. The pulse and the escapade are more of sport planes aren't they?...

Been flying since january and I've been wondering when it was going to happen, I crashed my GP Big Stik 40 today. Surprisingly it actually wasn't my fault, the front peg that holds the front of the...
