RE: Restore, Not Destroy! LB's Tamiya Stadium Blitzer Project!

The cool weather is probably helping to keep you motor cool. 90F is the outside temp here, so my motors heat up to about 140 to 150 after a 5 minute run [:@]

RE: Restore, Not Destroy! LB's Tamiya Stadium Blitzer Project!

I'm still running the stock Sport Tuned in my Stadium Thunder. At first I thought the motor might be shot, so I swapped it out for a Tamiya 23T Super Stock motor. Same thing, motor gets really hot....

RE: Restore, Not Destroy! LB's Tamiya Stadium Blitzer Project!

Let us know how it runs with the 15T. I have the 13T in mine and after 10 minutes of running, the motor is HOT! I thought bearings would fix the problem, but it still runs hot :D

RE: Restore, Not Destroy! LB's Tamiya Stadium Blitzer Project!

Okay so I rebuilt the tranny today. Everything seemed fine except for one of the bushings on the spur gear shaft. Must be a factory defect cause it was a really tight fit. I enlarged the hole using a...

RE: Restore, Not Destroy! LB's Tamiya Stadium Blitzer Project!

Yeah I was just getting a feel for the Stadium Thunder before I get some bearings, since it was just passed on to me by my brother. I think I will indeed get some bearings for it ;) What size is the...

RE: Restore, Not Destroy! LB's Tamiya Stadium Blitzer Project!

Was finally able to get a new pinion gear for the Stadium Thunder, so I took it out for a run. Was running the stock Sport Tuned motor, old school Futaba MC310CB esc and an Orion 2S 3800 30C lipo....

grater,

Congrats on your score! Looks like it's in good condition ;) Regarding the tires, you can remove the old tire from the rim by using acetone. It's a long and tedious process, but it works.

RE: Restore, Not Destroy! LB's Tamiya Stadium Blitzer Project!

Took the Stadium Thunder apart, checked everything, and installed the electronics. This baby is ready to run, just needs a new 13 tooth pinion gear. LHS doesn't have one so I'll have to hit up ebay...

RE: Restore, Not Destroy! LB's Tamiya Stadium Blitzer Project!

I remember when I got my first hobby-grade RC, a TA02. My brother got this Stadium Thunder so we could play together, and it totally smoked my TA02. Upgrading the TA02 to Sport Tuned motor didn't...
