RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

I know this is a late reply but it sounds like the front diffs are set really tight. You should take the diff's apart. and inspect them for any extreme wear then rebuild them according to specs per...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

I've ordered a few ABCHobby bodies that had light buckets included. From the images it looks like they should be included.

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

Oh man Alex I'm sorry I've been MIA for a while now. I wish I could remember off the top of my head but I think I was using the stock gearing. I tore apart my original DF03RA and have a NIB one with...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

If I ever get around to building my DF03RA I'll let you know. But my guess is yes they would work just fine! :)

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

Not sure about gearing I've never ran 3s in this car. But you may want to lock your rear diff if you plan on running it at that power constantly. The ball diffs are the weak spots on this car at...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

We are already way off topic here so I'll leave it saying this car is great but if you are looking for a strictly off road vehicle you should look elsewhere. :)

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

I would skip the Slash altogether and get a HPI Blitz. This way if you ever decide to race competitively you have a car that can really do both.

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

If you are going to stick with the stock ESC you could always just run a LiPo cut off like this:

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

I actually agree with you here. I rather have the standard planetary gears in any off road basher rather than ball diffs. They are just so freaking fussy!

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

You'll need to fit a wide rim on there to look nice but other than that a 200mm body will fit. It actually looks kinda cool.

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

Are you trying to turn it into a complete DF03? Not liking the DF03-RA?

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

Two problems there, one is 3Racing is hit or miss on fitment and quality. Second is you are running the shocks for the DF03 buggy mostly likely which is over extending your ride height. You need to...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

The part number for the wheels are #50678. It is listed as a different name but same wheel. I think these are the same wheels for the 08 Suby as well just not the gold color.

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

Not sure what you can get for a roller TT01. My guess would be around $70 or so, check EBay and the classified section for a better benchmark though.

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

You might have a hard time getting those wires to fit right in the battery tray because of they way they feed out from the top. I'm not sure though... Maybe someone else with that design can chime...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

The light kit is about $27 with shipping and it comes with everything you need plus the "fancy" features if you want to use it. Nothing wrong with doing it yourself if it was ridiculously costly but...

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

I have to agree the 3Racing LED kit works well and is way cheaper than the Tamiya stuff. You could even do things like have your turn signals flash and brake lights come on with it.

No need to stick to box art colors. It's a hobby and painting happens to be one of my favorite parts. Express yourself! :D

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

Absolutely you can use this thread for your build or make your own!

Alex you could use an old ear plug to fill the hole if you have one laying around. Just cut it to fit.

RE: Official DF-03 Ra Thread

Yeah I had to order new LiPo's just for the Tamiya stuff I have. For reference here is the proper specs that will fit any model Tamiya vehicle:

Dimensions: 5.4 x 1.7 x 0.87" (137 x 44 x 22mm)
