RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

True about quality costing money. A LHS told me that generally that's the case. And then when you get to top, top quality, it costs more money to make smaller increases in quality. Once the quality...

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

Supertib that's assuming you only get 100 runs off of a pair of Lipo packs. Like a bad case scenario view of it. It could be worse if someone messed up charging the Lipo packs or if they're...

I ordered this for my Stampede. I guess I should have measured...

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

It must have been put together wrong by the manufacturer or something because I haven't heard of anyone else with the same issue. You may want to call HPI and explain it to them.

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

I did that too. Once they were all tight and the mesh was right, I removed a screw and reapplied with blue locktite. Then repeated with the other three, one at a time.[sm=thumbup.gif]

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

If I use the rubber things, I'll do it like you have shown. I haven't used them before. As for the motor pinion, I tried to clean out the screw hole but wasn't sure how. I scrubbed at it, blew air at...

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

OMG wow lol. Better use red locktite/threadlock on the gear on the motor rod. Blue didn't do it for me and I'm only using 7cell NIMH packs. If you ever need to remove it just use a mini blow torch. A...

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

I never done Lipo before. I haven't heard of the 60% thing. Do you have a pair of identical NIMH packs to try out the truck with?

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

That's exactly what I do with the ESC wires. I tuck them under the rear body mount.

Those tube things had me confused too. I read a post somewhere saying you put them on the shocks if you're...

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

I had the same thing with my mesh. It's supposed to be that way. I put it in my truck behind my seat and when it shifts, I hear it clicking loudly. It's normal.

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

Well thing is you have to use the MaxAmps fire extinguisher peak refiller. But they're known to over-pressure the extinguisher canister, causing a leak. Thus you get a poor stream of fire...

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

Okay then. If it only needs the balance plug, I'm sure it will ignore the regular plug anyways. As long as I can read what you read in the individual cells, I should be fine. I may look towards...

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

Yeah on mine I hold down Start to begin charging too. I've only peak charged NIMH packs on this so far. So when balance charging a pack and it's done, will it let you scroll through the result of...

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

Do you find it easy to balance charge lipo packs with? I have no experience with Lipo packs. Will I be able to learn from using my charger?

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

It probably is. I read a post somewhere that it's the same as some other charger, just with a different brand name logo and color. May have been made in the same factory. Is it the same as a charger...

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

This is the charger I have. It came with a power supply and cell balancer thing. It has 5 slots for 2 thru 6 cells. Do I just plug the balancer plug from the lipo pack into that and charge? Or do I...

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

Sounds good. When I go lipo, I'll start with one pack for my Stampede VXL just to make sure I get used to maintaining it. Then I may spend the money on two more for the Flux. I'll keep the ones for...

RE: Just dropped ~$1350 on a Flux

So those Zippy Flightmax lipo packs from hobbycity. They aren't the hard cased ones. Are they still safe in the Flux battery carriers on the truck?

RE: Just dropped ~$1200 on a Flux

When i called HPI for advice, the guy on the phone said they use Max Amps and recommend that brand. I still haven't moved to Lipos just yet. The ones on Hobby City look nice but they're still...
