Suspicions here are that this transmitter came as mode 1.

I cannot doubt that turkey hunter knew it was a model 2 that majically changed to a mode 1 just looking at the trainer connector.

The link showing the procedure to change from mode 1 to mode 2 is very interesting.

Quite obviously (to me) the OP did not do all that work to switch to mode 1 while looking at the trainer...

Then you wrote ____the throttle and elevator is reversed

So, is the right stick operating the throttle with its up...
