RE: Ben Shereshaw's Mercury

This one is rated for a .40 4-stroke. A .19 two stroke could be a little light weight, but the .25 might do it. If I was doing it (and I do have the very same plans here on my build list), I would go...

RE: RE:

Crash, whatever it is you've got is afflicting me too. Man, I love the build, but absolutely a nervous wreck when it comes down to flying one. To some extent it's always been that way, but I can...

RE: 1 st low wing

If there are bad tendencies being reported on the Hog, then somebody didn't build it right. I've had two, and they were as forviving as it gets. Wore the first one out and still enjoying the second....

RE: Magnetic Building board sheet gauge

Picked up a galvanized 18ga sheet the day before yesterday. I figure pretty much everyone here that's serious already knows this but, just in case... The guy I bought this sheet from volunteered that...

RE: Building an L4 Grasshopper

I can't tell you where to look for documentation, but I'm about 98% sure that some carried rockets mounted under the wing for marking targets for other aircraft to strike. Don't remember seeing small...

RE: Balsa USA Phaeton question

I don't know for sure, but I'll bet the Phaeton has two wings for the purposes of generating enough lift to fly it comfortably. You might take the extra ribs not used on the top wing and extend the...

RE: First Kit?

Hard to come up with a name that's any better than that. If you're like most you'll probably never again be without one!

RE: Building an L4 Grasshopper

As you probably already know, building a kit is not as intimidating as some think. Patience, patience and more patience! That'll just about cover the worst of it. Looks like you've pretty well got...

RE: Building an L4 Grasshopper

Nice work, Ed! I'm tuning in to this station to see how it all ends. I've got a similar idea for a 1/6 Sig Cub. Carry on!

RE: How much did it cost you to get a kit cut??

Ace 4-40 Bipe cut 2 weeks ago. Lazer Works already had the plans in their archives and cut the kit for 46.78, shipped for 14.66. Total of 61.44 and had it here in about a week! It was a good...

RE: What's on your building table or next in line?

I've got a line on an Ace 4-120 Bipe kit NIB that if all goes well will be mine inside of a month. At least that is the plan. The airplane build and putting together a magnetic building system is my...

RE: Magnetic Building board sheet gauge

I think I've read enough. I'm convinced. It's got to be better than sticking pins in a board (and your fingers). The triangular fixtures in the photo 2 posts back have only 2 magnets as opposed to 4....

RE: Arf Review in the Kit Build Forum?

I contend that if ARF manufacturers think that just because they dispay an ARF review on a kit building forum they're going to convert kit builders to ARF buyers, then they really don't understand...

RE: Anyone Else Having Trouble With Super Monokote?

Glad... no, ecstatic to know that it's NOT me! I don't know at this point what the alternative is, but I'm looking around. MK just feels heavier than it did in years past. And that translates into...

RE: Arf Review in the Kit Build Forum?

As I said in another forum recently, "I guess I just don't like change". I've been in and out and about this hobby for 30 or more years and I suppose I get overly impassioned about some things. But...

RE: Arf Review in the Kit Build Forum?

I'm with ArticCatRider. Tried the ARF thing once, just 'cause everyone else was (I thought). Never seen such a disjointed, non-conforming, no-fitting piece of junk. I'M DONE!!! And if I wanted to...

RE: Magnetic Building board sheet gauge

If granite is the route I was going to take, I don't think I'd chance detroying it by drilling near the edges. I think contact cement or spray adhesive is the better choice. Of course, with contact...

RE: RCM Plans ?

Just ordered my first 2 sets from them 12 days ago, recieved them 3 days ago. Just call 'em, there could be some small problem that a call could get ironed out.

RE: Magnetic Building board sheet gauge

I've always been told that one of the flattest things you could get to build on is a hollow core interior door. I build on one of those with a 2'X4' ceiling tille attached to the surface. It works...
