RE: Very cheap boat for a gift

So you would get the Reef Racer over the Joysway?

How about the Joysway Magic Vee?...

RE: Very cheap boat for a gift

Awesome, thanks for the replies. It's for my father in law who wants to have fun with his grandkids.

Based on the options and reviews, I think I will wait for the Warrior on Hobby King and...

Very cheap boat for a gift

I have a family member who wants an RC boat for Christmas. It can't possibly cost over $100 total ($50 would be ideal).

I'm not asking for a miracle! Just wondering if anyone has any ideas. I...

RE: electric outrigger

Whoops, dislexic moment. I'll have to hunt around and see if anyone has done this and posted about it.

electric outrigger

I've thought of building a JAE 12G outrigger (aka, JAP) as an electric. Any ideas why the electric kit is x2 the cost?

RE: Old Engines, Gummed Up / Rust

Engine seems free to me. How do I know if it's free enough?

RE: Old Engines, Gummed Up / Rust

I'll try this.

I already tried fuel and it didn't work.

I'm close to giving up if I could find a new carb to buy, but the 3A is not sold anymore. Any ideas?

RE: Old Engines, Gummed Up / Rust

I tried a penetrating oil (Liquid Wrench). It's all they had at the hardware store. No luck there. I also tried to take the nipple off and push the barrel out with a small screwdriver, but I...

RE: Want cheap floats for trainer/beater

Oh, good idea! I have a nice scroll saw. What kind of foam do I use and where can I get it?

I could probably build a hot wire cutter if I could find good plans. I'm nervous about electrocuting...

RE: Want cheap floats for trainer/beater

Super cool plane! I'd love a biplane once I get the hang of flying a trainer.

RE: Want cheap floats for trainer/beater

Biggest issue with building foam ones myself is the hot wire foam cutter.

RE: Recommended trainer, Hobbico?

I'd like something that can take off under its own power, unless that's not possible.

RE: Want cheap floats for trainer/beater

I'd be good with building them. ARF would be nice, but it's more expensive. I might try plans if I could find any. GWS makes some really cheap ones but they look like .20 size.

Recommended trainer, Hobbico?

I am not new to RC, but I have so many hobbies I don't always stick with it. I've had a .40 trainer for probably 10 years, but I never fly it because I have nowhere to go i live close to the city, so...

RE: Old Engines, Gummed Up / Rust

Soaked the engine, carb, backplate and glow plug off, in fuel for 24 hours. Turns PERFECT.

The throttle is still stuck on the carb though. Part of the problem is that Ihave no lever age on it to...

Restarting Hobby

I've had a 40 sized trainer for many years now. I recently re-started an old boat build, and I'm becoming reinterested in the plane. I flew the plan a few times, with an instructor, but I never...
