I have used epoxy with denatured alcohol to cover foam wings and other foam parts of planes. I really don't think it will hurt to plug the holes in the gearbox with styrofoam.

You probably could get by with a 1/2 oz of epoxy and several drops of the denatured alcohol. If you don't get it to thin, 5 minute epoxy will act like 30 minute epoxy. REMEMBER-- the thinner it is,...

I haven't tried this on a flat bottom wing. Someone mentioned AIRCORE did this. Are AIRCORE wings flat bottomed or sym. But anyway, you would have to put the yard stick inside the wing before gluing...

A wing built using a router(for folding the wing sheet) and using the balsa inserts(for gluing together).
