RE: Vintage Glow Plugs from the early days

When I bought a old 1948 vintage Ohlsson and Rice .23 glow engine, I found that it had a glow plug I hadn't seen before in it. When I took a look at the plug it looked like it had OR stamped in the...

RE: Vintage Glow Plugs from the early days

Twin_Stack posted this pic in a different thread previously. I think at the time Enya was actually making the plugs but a company named Camco Corporation was importing and selling them outside of...

RE: Vintage Glow Plugs from the early days

I think that the glow plug was manufactured sometime in 1961 through 1966 or so, just like mine.
Ok the McCoy .35 stunt engines with the offset glow plug (not in the center) were made from 1961...

RE: Vintage Glow Plugs from the early days

On your previous gold color plug, I would concur that it is a McCoy-Testors glow plug.
I have the same one on my mcCoy .35 engine that I bought many many years ago as a spare engine and never used...

RE: Vintage Glow Plugs from the early days

That looks like a insert plug head for one of their engines. It isn't threaded.

RE: Vintage Glow Plugs from the early days

RE: Vintage Glow Plugs from the early days

Yes I think you are correct, they sure do look like the Holland Hornet 049 glow plugs.
I looked at a bunch of engines but forgot about the Holland Hornets at the time. I edited the post to add the...

RE: Vintage Glow Plugs from the early days

I found a McCoy Baby-Mac Hot Point Glow Plug with box.
The small "Baby-Mac" glow plugs were designed for the converted small McCoy engines at the time. They had a screw on cylinder cooling jacket,...

RE: Vintage Glow Plugs from the early days

That KLG glow plug looks like a two piece unit like the Arden plugs. One could unscrew the center part with the coil and replace it.
Did KLG offer a replacement core for their...
