RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Sorry to change the subject but I was wondering if anyone here thinks the RCV 91 CD would be a good choice for this plane. It seems that everyone is using the SP series for the Mustang. However...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Was kinda bored tonight so I thought I'd post a couple of pics. I was away from the Mustang for
a while but have been picking up interest lately. I started by carving a new more scale scoop...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

I'm torn myself between Shangri la, Hun Hunter - Texas, or Hat - Jane. If I do Shangri la I will be compared with Ticketec and I certainly don't want that. I always liked the white spinner though

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Hey ticketec, welcome back. I can't speak for RC Outlaw but the reason I can't get mine to work
is the retracts I bought. I have the 533's which have the air cylinder towards the wing tip. So...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

That's the way I feel. Ive been messing with this wing for weeks trying to get it all in but with the retracts I have, it's just not gonna fit. But I want those inner doors enough that I will trade...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

I thought I had it myself but after thinking of anything I could do the only thing I'm left with is
down sizing to a Dave Brown foam tire. The Robart I have now is 1-1/8 thick and I was able to...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

I am using the 663's with the 531's. So far everything is fine, the 531 as mentioned accepts the
struts without the need for the wire gear which makes installation a breeze. I too had the...

I'm using Robart 531 rs's. They have the air cylinder facing out toward the wing tip which I like however as you pointed out I had to eat away most of rib#4 to get them to fit. I...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Okay, my tail wheel is finally done. It turned out to be more work than anticipated but I think it
will be worth it. The retraction is very easy in fact I was able to use a micro servo for...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Thought I might post some pics of my Mustang project if you guys don't mind. After reading all
of your posts and discovering the possibilities of sequential doors my means for this project have...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

I just mounted mine and found the same thing, though I am using different retracts and struts. I
chose to drop the rear of the retract down 1/8" which makes the tire sit just under the rib in...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

We have all been there. I have built a couple of the old royal kits as well as scratch built my BT
P-40. It wasn't until recently I came across a small hand plain at the hardware store. It...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Okay, it makes sense when you bring up all the associated costs. I questioned it at first as the
spun aluminum spinner for my Brian Taylor P-51 which was a nonstandard size was like $40
...

RE: Top Flite 1/7 P-51 Build

Hello Gents.

I've started my own Mustang, building the B model if Tower ever gets the conversion kit in stock. May post some pics later but now it just looks like everyone elses. By the way...
