That is an old trick for applying silk, apparently. I learned it while watching a Dave Platt video on finishing airplanes with silk & dope. The silkspan supports the fabric on open bays, and prevents...

The Ultra Sport 40 assembled, laterally balanced, and now ready for paint! It's 4 lbs 11 oz w/o wheels and canopy so far. Fox .40 for power.
