RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

I'll show some more detailed photos when they're finished up :)
I wanted to go with some lighting too, but I'd already spent so much on these (those two extra ESC's didn't help). So I'll wait til...

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

Thanks. I didn't forget the wipers, but the only thing painted on them is the blade. Santa's leaving a note for my son that these two Jeeps are for him and his dad, and that he can choose whichever...

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

the reason the large bumpers are on is because this will be my sons first "fast" rc car, and I anticipate it smashing around into a lot of things :) I'll keep the big bumper on for a while until he...

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

Well, here the two Wild Willy's are, getting ready for their big debut on Christmas. They are not totally done yet, still a bit of detailing (painting, stickers, etc.), and the red one does not have...

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

Two chassis built and ready to go. Now just need to get the bodies assembled and painted. Turns out the stiff front suspension was because I had assembled the front plastic links wrong. Took them...

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

well, when I build the second one I will compare to see if they are about the same.  If they are the same I won't worry about it too much.  If they're different then I'll check the first one to make...

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

Should the front suspension be so tight? I don't mean the...

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

I definitely will. It's gonna be hard, having a little one who doesn't know they're here and trying to build them without him knowing. I willhave to bring the kits over to my parents and get the wife...

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

Iordered two of those ESC's from a guy in Japan. $20 a pop - not a bad deal. I just couldn't stand the idea of using old technology! :) I mean, that's what my old WIld Willy used some 25 years ago! :)

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

Igot it from Tower Hobbies. $154.99. I looked around for cheaper but almost no one had them. Even on ebay, with shipping, it was more expensive. Plus it was one stop, easy shopping. Boy that stinks....

RE: Tamiya Wild Willy 2 Resource Thread!

Ah, it's no willy. It's a 2007 wrangler 4-door., and the lift and tires aren't all that impressive. It's still my daily driver, though Ido take it offroad. Once I get myself another car I can start...
