I can second the steps Joystik outlined for the muffler. I also found that the 15cc muffler seems to have better seals in the supplied muffler. My only remaining question has to do with the RPM...

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

Come on guys, post some specs as to what prop your using and what RPM you see.  Surely I'm not the only one with on-board telemetry.

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

I keep asking with little response, but for those that have stepped up to the 15cc, here's some feedback.

The 15cc uses the same basic carb as the 10cc but its slightly modified. Hence, you only...

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

Is there a 15cc thread?  I'm curious as to the differences between the two engines.  Out of the box, the muffler is better on the 15cc and doesn't leak oil.  The other difference is the needle valve...

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

Now that's a good tip..  I'll put some baffling on the left side as well.  I don't believe that there is competition for "exit" but I'll keep it in mind.  What I did install is a vane on the inner...

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

This may be a silly question, but is there a similar thread that is devoted to just the 15cc? I now own two of the 15cc Evo's and there are some striking differences. First the 15 peaks out with less...

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

I've had my EVO 10cc installed in a vintage (80's) VK Cherokee.  It performs flawlessly.  I've been R/C modelling since 1964 so that's my experience bona fides.  I would highly recommend the 10cc...

Matthew,
You're asking too much from a 10 cc.

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

For those having leaky muffler problems, there's two items that I found.  First the gaskets are extremely thin. Replace with thicker variety of gasket materiel from an AutoZone or the likes parts...

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

I ran about 2 tanks (6 ounce each) using the 10 x 6 then went to a Ves 11 x 7.5 prop. This unloads in the air to 12300 rpm in a shallow dive. I usually fly at 3/4 throttle with the prop turning...

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine

I would ensure that you have the tach in "2" blade vice "3" blade.  I pulled out a Super Tigre G51 and replaced it with the 10cc for my old V.K. Cherokee.  This weighs around 8 pounds.  The 10cc rips...
