When I got the new wheels, I have had no more problems. You could also contact HPI. I did this and they sent me 4 new wheels and tires, free. However, since I am on the east coast, I couldn't wait...

Get a new wheel, yours is shot. I had the same problem (not the wheel nut getting hot) but the wheels stripping.
