The onroad tamiya he's wanting to put the OS18CVR into will probably be alright even though it's 1/8 scale, but the majority of 1/8th scale vehicles won't do well with a motor...

RE: proper nitro engine supercharger?

I was done, but come on. Why do we need to bring up credentials now? You claim you have been to auto tech school, yet you recently claimed water injection heats up an engine. You even elaborated...

RE: tuning help!

If the outside air temperature was 115°, then thatis clearlythe sole reason you had to richen it.On warmer days wesometimes haveto over-richen the mixture to keep the engine temperature down....

RE: tuning help!

I'm talking about humidity, water already vaporized and in the air, not straight water. In the post you quoted above (by papy_yosh), he said the opposite of what you said, that the OP should lean the...

RE: o.s.18

agreed, it's going to be way underpowered and you'll probably have a serious overheating problem because the motor isn't designed to move the weight of a 1/8th scale vehicle

RE: tuning help!

It has been a while since I ran invery humidconditions, but I'm pretty sure that higher humidity requires the needles to be leaned some, so it in effect creates a rich condition, not lean

RE: Mixing your own fuel

Maybe for you, but for myself and many others it is much cheaper. Also, you do not need a hydrometer, this is not NASA. The percents may be a little off due to possible expansion/contraction of the...

RE: new ravager

Do you mean thatwhen on a half tank of fuel,it revs up after you've done the jump? That's probably because the fuel line picked up an air bubble from the tank. When you jump the gas sloshes a whole...

RE: Mixing your own fuel

Any container that seals it from the environment. It is going to absorb mositure from the air, so store it in a sealed container. A sturdy plastic jug is fine, like a gas can.

RE: RTR good or bad?

I personally don't blame the RTRfor people's inability to repair their own vehicle. The main problem is that not everyone is mechanically inclined. Some people are just not good at it and that's the...

RE: Mixing your own fuel

yes, and empty 1 gallon jug, add the oil to the jug, then fill the jug to the top with methanol. Since this fuel mixture has no nitromethane, you will need to lean out your carb needles a bit if...

RE: proper nitro engine supercharger?

Yes, you are "done", because the accusation "you don't know how to tune" or "you don't own the equipment" is at the end of every losing argument about nitro engines. Assumption helps make one more...

RE: proper nitro engine supercharger?

superchargers are good for one thing, they look cool.Do they add power? Maybe a little (I say none) if you tune them right, but you're not going to generate much/anyboost when the exhaust port is...

RE: Mixing your own fuel

Not surewhatklotz nitroil is. For klotz castor oil, 15% by volume is enough. Simply take a 1 gallon container, add 2 and 1/2 cups castor oil, then top off the container with methanol.
