RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

Really nice work! It looks like something factory made.
You have a TIG huh? I'm jealous. :D

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

I took some measurements, and 5x11 bearings won't fit. 5x10 just might barley fit, but 5x8 definitely would.

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

Thanks!
I'll have to see what the axel diameter is, and if the hub can be opened up big enough. I bought another wheel to work with today.

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

No, that one isn't. I'm pretty sure I can make one to fit ball bearings, though.

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

Would anyone be interested in an adapted Dubro rubber wheel for their wheelie bar? I finally have the proper tools (Taig mini lathe) to modify the aluminum hubs. Shown is a 1 and 1/4" wheel, but I...

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

I'd imagine almost anyting from a touring car wheel up to a 2.2" truck wheel would technically fit. I wouldn't go bigger than 2.2" because of clearance issue with the chassis.

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

That's going to be down the road a little ways, but I'll be sure to let you know when I do. Besides it not being availble yet, I've got a Tamiya Pajero kit to work on first. :D

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

It's made in the US (I'm pretty sure anyhow), so to me it's worth it. :D I'm considering getting one.
I wonder how well it works for heat dissipation. [sm=confused.gif]

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

HEY EVERYBODY!! Look at what RC4WD is going to start making! They say they're for a Wild Dagger, but of course anything with a WR-02 gearbox can use it. I like the slot they have at one side for...

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

Yeah, those shocks should work for it. I think I've even seen those gold ones on WW2 from Tamiya's site pictures.
I use ones for a RS4 Rally on mine:

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

Thanks!
Yeah, I can't deny that the shell is the biggest factor in the handling.
Actually, I am already running a 20T pinion in it. I might go up to a 10.5, but I'm not really looking for too...

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

Now with the body actually mounted. Yeah, I have to admit it's kind of odd looking, but at least it's something less prone to damage than the original.

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

I got a chance to take my brushless setup outside today. It's not as fast (top speed) outside as it seemed in my basement, but the power (torque) is still as impressive. It seems much more stable in...

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

I'll keep and eye on the temperature with that pack. Thanks for the warning.

I didn't see the 17.5 on Tower. Still, I think I'll get used to the extra power and top speed, ha ha! :D

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

I don't know exactly how it compares to a Lunchbox, but I think it's a pretty fun truck. I think the transmission may be a bit stronger than the Lunchbox.

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

I finally got the electronics back into WW2! I gave it a short drive in the basement and the power is phenomenal. I'm either going to have to find a very mild power curve setup, or just learn to go...

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

Thanks!
Actually, it's aluminum.
I considered doing that later too. However, I don't if there's enough material left on the rim to fit a small bearing inside. I think there is, but I'll have to...

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

Yeah, unfortunately it does roll rather easy. Though, it can be kind of fun too because of that. I used to take mine up on two side wheels for fun.
If you can find a ligher body for it, that...

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

I just got the conversion done for the rubber wheelie bar wheel. It took a little while to do because the wheel was a tad larger and wider than the stock, but it turned out very nice. I milled the...

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

Will do!
I'll probably try to find a good sized rubber replacement for the wheelie bar. I think a little more cusion on that wheel is going to help (slightly) keep it from flipping all the way...

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

My receiver and brushless system come are supposed to come in today!
It's kind of funny that the first car I upgrade to brushless is Wild Willy. It's a Novak XBR 13.5, being about the mildest...

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

I got it painted and set it on to see how it looks. I might be able to just switch the front and rear body posts to get it to fit right.

RE: Wild Willy 2 w/ pics

Yeah, one's the original and the other is a nice, light lexan one for a RC18 R.
